Most shops sell each massage in 1-hour or 2-hour sessions. One hour is enough to cover the whole body; two hours leaves time for slower work on the back and legs.

Foot massage is a third option. You stay dressed and only the feet and lower legs are worked on.
Street shop, day spa or hotel spa?
- Street shops are the cheapest. They offer Thai and foot massage, often in a shared room with curtains or chairs at the front.
- Day spas have a printed menu, private rooms, oil massage and scrubs, and English-speaking staff. Prices sit between street shops and hotels.
- Hotel spas have the highest prices, with pools, steam rooms and packages.

How much does a massage cost in Bangkok?
Prices depend on the type of place and the massage. Ask for the price list before you start, and check whether the price is for 1 hour or 2 hours.
Our own prices are on the full body and Thai massage price list. The short version is Thai massage 300 THB per hour, foot massage 300 THB and oil massage from 600 THB.

Before you get a massage
Postpone if you have a fever or a contagious illness. Tell the therapist about pregnancy, recent surgery, high blood pressure or blood thinners. A massage is for comfort and relaxation, not a medical treatment. If you have an injury or a health condition, ask your doctor first.
